MOEM monitors a variety of information sources on a daily basis to assess emerging hazards and vulnerabilities. MOEM receives, evaluates, and synthesizes alerts, bulletins, and other informational products, and then disseminates information to City agencies and partner organizations.

MOEM also coordinates a set of systems that are used to warn the public in emergencies.

This includes:

  • Emergency Alert System (EAS)
  • Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA)
  • Emergency hotline – recorded message (410) 396-3098
  • CitiAlert automated messaging (“Reverse 911”)
