Baltimore City LEPC Receives EPA Partnership Award
Friday Nov 7th, 2008
November 7, 2008 – MOEM announced today that Baltimore City’s Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) was recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency with a Partnership Award for “significant efforts towards emergency preparedness, prevention, and response.” Baltimore was the only jurisdiction in EPA Region III to receive the award, which was presented October 27 at the annual Emergency Preparedness and Prevention Conference in Richmond, Virginia.
The Partnership Award recognizes the success of Baltimore’s LEPC over the past year. During the last 12 months, the LEPC has attracted a large group of participants from government, business, and the community. Quarterly EPA meetings have expanded to include an all-hazards focus and provide a valuable opportunity for cross-discipline and cross-sector collaboration.
